Enhancing a video does not mean zooming in on grainy footage until you can see reflections on a small bolt. It involves a series of adjustments to the video's colors, contrast, white balance and other aspects. If your video's quality is not what you expected, because you made the wrong settings on your camera, you can use vReveal to make various corrections to your footage. The software is capable of cleaning out noise, sharpen the image and much more. You can make these adjustments manually or you may click a button and the program will enhance the video for you.

vReveal comes in free and payed versions. Obviously, the free edition has a few limitations, but you can still use its core capabilities. The download process may keep you waiting an extra minute or two if your Internet connection is not fast enough. The good news is that you will have to go through a standard setup process, which takes less than a minute to complete.

When you launch the software for the first time, you can choose to scan your entire hard drive for videos or select a folder manually. Your imported videos are listed as thumbnails, on the left side of the interface. You only need to click a video once to start playing it, in the larger area on the left. The video's timeline is composed of multiple thumbnails, making it easy to jump directly to a desired scene. The options beneath the video's preview allow you to rotate it, take snapshots, create panoramas or upload the video to YouTube or Facebook. It is possible to create a panorama from a panning video immediately and it only requires a single click.

You can bring up additional options in the same area, after clicking the Edit button. These options allow you to add start and end titles, make numerous adjustments and enhancements or apply various effects filters. The software makes it possible to adjust the video's aspect ratio, sharpness, white balance, set a stabilization zoom and much more. The available filters will apply high quality enhancements and interesting effects to your videos. You can select filters for auto-contrast, sharpening, effects like sepia, black and white, vintage and much more.

If you do not have time to make all these tweaks, you may use the one-click fix option. Like the name suggests, you need to click this option once and the software will make a series of recommended adjustments automatically. When you are done enhancing your video, you may compare the result with the original. The Compare option will place a vertical line over the video's playback and you will be able to see what the original looked like, on the left side and how the adjusted video looks like, on the right.

Pros

vReveal includes many enhancement options. Once applied, they will make videos look much better. Using the software's options is not difficult, thanks to the well organized interface.

Cons

The one-click fix option will make the video play slower. Fortunately, it will play normally when you save or share it. If you are not satisfied with the quality of your videos, vReveal will help you improve them considerably. Removing noise, sharpening, stabilizing or various effects are just a few features that vReveal has to offer.
